In partnership with Think Outside The Vox and with Sponsorship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and The Acton-Boxborough Community Compass (f/k/a the United Way), Open Door Theater is hosting its fourth annual Ask Me Fair, a living library experience where attendees are invited to ask questions, absorb and connect with presenters of different cultures, identities and experiences. This impactful event is designed for families and humans of all ages are welcome to attend and engage. ASL interpretation, Audio Description and Open Captions provided.  At the Ask Me Fair, everyone is invited to ask questions, listen to, and converse with presenters from a wide arrange of backgrounds, and who are happy to share their stories and experiences. We invite all to come with an open heart and an open mind to listen and learn, and go home with a better understanding about our world and the people in it.

Purpose:To allow children and adults to ask questions, listen, learn, and gain more understanding of people who may be different from themselves. The presenters are a diverse group of adults who have interesting life experiences and are willing to share personal experiences to foster dialogue and curiosity and community.

Format: Participants will have the opportunity to meet five presenters from different backgrounds and of different identities (including a Berklee musician, a world sea and space traveler, and 2 ODT alum). After a brief self-introduction of all the guest presenters, the presenters will move to different tables and the attendees will rotate through in small groups. Each group will have up to 15 minutes with each presenter. We invite and encourage the participants to use this time to respectfully ask any questions they may have of the presenter’s thoughts and experiences that are related to their personal identity.
