Advocacy – Northeast Transition Collaborative Network

About
Do you want to become a better ally to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, but don’t know where to start? Join us virtually on Tuesday, July 29th from 10-11am to learn ways that friends, family, and self-advocates with I/DD can advocate for rights on the legislative, community, and individual levels. Take the next step in the transition journey and let your voice be heard!
Our speakers are:
Nora Bent – Director of Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships, The Arc of Massachusetts
Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong
Dan Sicard – Department of Developmental Services Lowell Area Office, Self-Advocate

The Northeast Transition Collaborative Network (NTCN) was created in response to gaps in communication and collaboration between school districts, agencies/providers, young adults, parents, caregivers, and community groups. NTCN hosts monthly virtual sessions about adult services available and opportunities in the community, quarterly professional development opportunities for school district representatives on topics related to person-centered transition, and workshops.
