SNAP Special Artists Classes (5-80 years old)

July 26, 2025 @ 11:15am - 12:15pm

About

Special Artists Classes bring together individuals who are neuro-divengent to work on art projects.  Participants work at their own pace in a supportive and fun environment, emphasizing creativity and friendship.  Special Artists work on different projects each session and activities can include watercolor, acrylic painting, fabric painting, wood projects and multi-media art.   Student artwork is hung in exhibits in Lexington and other surrounding towns. An important part of our mission to to raise awareness of the talents and abilities of neuro-divergent citizens.

In addition, each of the classes has a ZOOM option, in which a limited number of students can participate from home by connecting to the classroom via ZOOM.  Both of these classes welcome students from 5-80 year of age with the younger children grouped together.  Children age 5-12 need to come accompanied by an adult.  Any new person joining also needs to come accompanied.  SNAP reserves the right to determine whether a person can attend independently.  Classes are held at the Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Road, Lexington, MA in Rooms 230-232.

fOR OUR REMOTE STUDENTS:  We use the  Meeting Owl 3 Video Conference Camera which helps ensure that students have an immersive, engaging and collaborative experience when participating remotely.  We also work with families and/or caregivers to assure that students:

o  can connect to the classroom via Zoom during each classroom session

o  have the necessary artist supplies delivered to their homes

In addition, we offer remote access where students can participate from home by connecting to the classroom via ZOOM.
