Dad to Dad: Strength, Stress & Supporting Our Kids
About
A conversation created specifically for fathers of children with disabilities hosted by the Federation for Children with Special Needs.
This is a space for fathers—to connect with other Dads who understand some of what you’re experiencing, and to talk honestly about raising and supporting your child as they grow toward adulthood.
The conversation will focus on:
- The strengths you bring as fathers in supporting your child
- The stress, challenges, and real-life pressures you may be carrying
- How you support your child now—and how that support can grow over time
- Practical ideas for advocacy, planning, and navigating the transition to adulthood
- Connecting with other dads in a judgment-free space
You will also hear from a panel of fathers whose children (ages 14–26) are in different stages of the transition to adulthood. These fathers are involved in their children’s education and planning in different ways, and they will share what has worked, what has been hard, and what they’ve learned along the way. Tips and resources will be shared!
Whether you come to talk, listen, or simply be with other dads who get it, you are welcome here.
