The Federation for Children with Special Needs will be hosting monthly virtual Transition Related Presentations. This month, the topic is Reframing Postsecondary Transition from Andrew Arboe.
Andrew Arboe is many things including an Autistic Self Advocate, Public Speaker, Educator, and Entrepreneur. He will join us on December 2nd for the first in a new virtual series focusing on Transition topics. Andrew will present Reframing Postsecondary Transition and discuss ways to embrace change instead of fearing the future.
Andrew has presented to organizations including Autism Connections (Keynote speaker for their 2023 conference), Arc of Massachusetts, and Association of Autism and Neurodiversity (AANE). Recently, he presented for the 2025 International Conference for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Orlando, Florida. His topics are focused on autism in major areas like special education, transportation, transitioning to adulthood, and employment. Each topic is based on personal experiences growing up and the professional life he developed over time. Andrew also does professional development and continuing education courses for his communities.
In August 2023, Andrew became certified through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. His current workplaces include FOCUS Center for Autism, Anderson Center for Autism, and the Children Hospital of Philadelphia. He also serves on the boards of Neurodiversity Employment Network and Disability Rights Connecticut. Andrew graduated from Manchester Community College with an associate degree as a Disability Specialist and Charter Oak State College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
